Addiction Counseling

Counseling for addictions is a proven aid to building a solid, clean and sober recovery. Sobriety is difficult to attain and more difficult to sustain.

Counseling works to keep your anxiety low so that you can be more mindful of how to know and meet your needs. It gives you the tools to find better ways to take care of yourself so that you no longer need addictive behaviors to feel good. Some of the addictive behaviors I have helped people successfully overcome include substances such as alcohol, pot, cocaine, food, sex, work and relationship dependency.

A large part of my counseling practice focuses on relapse prevention. This is a specialized approach very successful with clients who repeatedly slip in their sobriety. With a strong emphasis on 12-step work, my approach links family therapy with a solid program of self care.

At first, you may feel selfish as you progress into the fullness of your life. However, the rewards of sustained sobriety soon out weigh the false guilt of putting you and your recovery first. You and your family will be pleased you stuck with the program.
